Shaikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, attended the Global Day celebration organized by the Cultural Club of the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) at the University Campus on Thursday the 14th of April 2011. The event, organized around the theme ‘Unity and Diversity’, was a celebration of the multicultural identity of the AURAK campus which has students from as many as 29 countries.

Terry Fox Run was held on Friday 4th of March 2011. More than 15 students participated in this noble cause, AURAK lead from the front with `Dr.Shaukat Mirza the president of the university lead the run along with 5 staff / Faculty and more than 15 students.

The RAK Half marathon 2011 was held on Friday 18th of February 2011 which was a very big event in RAK. Mr. Perry Fernandes Along with 12 students and 2 staff members joined this event as volunteers and did a wonderful job.

American University of Ras Al Khaimah hosted the football penalty kicks championship sponsored by the Land Department of Ras Al Khaimah on Monday 17 May at the AURAK playground.

American University of Ras Al Khaimah hosted the Graduation Ceremony for Al Arabia Private School, Ras Al Khaimah, at the AURAK auditorium on Thursday May 20.  The auditorium was full with students, parents, teachers and friends of the graduates.

On Thursday 25-03-2010, the Engineering Club at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah under the supervision of Dr. Ra’ed Awdeh organized a field trip to the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) facilities in Dubai. du is the second largest telecommunications service provider in the UAE. 

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) has signed an articulation agreement with the American College of Dubai (ACD) on March 18, 2010.  The agreement will facilitate to transfer credits of qualified ACD diploma students to AURAK’s four-year Bachelor’s programs in Biotechnology, Electronics and Communications Engineering and Computer Engineering.

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah organized an event for disabled children from the Ras al Khaimah Center for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled on the occasion of World Down Syndrome Day.  This is the only government center for special needs in RAK and it is under His Highness Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

The vision of His Highness Shekih Saud Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and Chancellor of the university, had identified the importance of a high quality institution in Ras Al Khaimah that would serve the needs of the local community and add to the quality of higher education, nationally and internationally.

American University of Ras Al Khaimah beats University of Bolton, Ras Al Khaimah by 24 runs in the AURAK Cricket League Finals.

The RAK Ministry of Education and Youth donated 139 books to the AURAK Library. The donation includes books about the history, economics, politics and culture of UAE, and a selection of the best UAE poets, short stories and fiction writers.

Isabel Mavengere joins AURAK as the new Manager, Human Resources. Isabel holds a Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Politics and Administration Majoring in Political Science and Sociology from the University Of Zimbabwe.

The aim of the 8th UAE Math Day on April 3, 2010 at Zayed University in Abu Dhabi is to bring together researchers from the Gulf region and around the world to present their research in all areas of Mathematics, Statistics and Mathematics Education.

Ten staff and student volunteers from the American University of Ras Al Khaimah played their small but vital role in RAK’s 2010 ½ Marathon on Friday 19 February by hosting the last water station at the event.

His background is Management & Business Administration. Prior to joining AURAK he worked for University of Sharjah and Arab Science Foundation.

Last Thursday, 4th February, students of AURAK’s Electronics and Communications Engineering program organized a sunset barbecue to celebrate ECE’s initial academic accreditation awarded by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

JSTOR is the most famous and most used by the academic world around the globe full-text electronic journal service to which AURAK Library subscribed just recently.

On Monday, November 23^rd, which turned out to be a beautiful afternoon in more ways than one, the AURAK community celebrated the 38^th UAE National Day on campus.

Ten students from RAK English Speaking School visited the Chemistry Department laboratories to experience a day as a chemist.

A group of students from the AURAK visited the Obaidallah health care facility for the elderly, situated in Al Nakheel.

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah started an environment awareness program with recycling our waste as an initial project. The Department of Public Works has provided seven sets of recycling bins and installed them at various locations on campus to recycle paper, plastic, glass & cans.

The American University of Ras Al Khaimah and the Ras Al Khaimah Land Department signed a partnership agreement, which will support the vision of His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah to improve community service and education in the Emirate.
